Just wanted to say hi to everyone.
My name is Steve, I'm a newbie to float fishing. Just got my first center pin about a month ago, and tried it out a couple times. Man it's tough. Being a father of two (one is less than two months old), I don't get to go out and practice much. I'm probably doing everything wrong anyways. I would love to tag along with one of you experts for a fun and educational day on the river. I drive, and always bring extra coffee and energy bars . I practice catch and release, just in it for the fight.
I'm thinking about taking my 5yrs old daughter to Newcastle for some bottom bouncing on the beach this sunday. That is the only place I know that is safe enough for a little child. I'm just not sure if it's wise to do so. Don't want to piss off some of the serious anglers there. I'm so lucky that my little princess loves to fish. She has had her share of pan fish on her Dora rod. She will use my rod of course and I will help her fight the fish. What do guys think, should I get her hooked on steelies?
Hopefully, with all your help, I will one day be able to contribute to this community and perhaps help a future newbie.

You're worried about pissing other anglers off because you want to put your little one on fish? Don't worry about pissing anyone off, if that would piss anyone off they have serious issues... the river is for everyone to share. Plus, you can't please everyone, that's impossible :lol:

Take her out fishing, I'm sure any "experts" there will be appreciative that you are helping to get the young ones into the sport and will enjoy seeing her fight a monster steelie, who knows the expert might give you and her some tips. What I meant was, we might take a little longer to reel the fish in. I know this get some peoples panties in a knot. I'll try to keep the drag on really tight. You are right, one can never please everyone. 

Welcome...yeah the kid thing...they do have a tendency to take time and attention...sooner the children than some of the children on the river banks...
