Hello everyone. I live in Huron County, you can pretty much find me fishing for any species any time of year, But my real passion is steelhead. especially in the dead of winter. Well most winters lol this year is just depressing. Anyways keep your line tight and have all your gear ready for the big ice break!!!

Welcome Pindrifter.
I hear you about this winter. Back 30 years ago it would have been nothing to me when all winters were like this year. I used to fish a certain Huron Trib in mid-Feb -20 C plus the wind chill, which we didn't have back then because it hadn't been invented yet, LOL. I remember wearing waders that I couldn't wear in the summer cause they were a size or 2 too big with like 5 pair of socks, 5 pair of thermals and 2 more pair of track pants inside them just to catch Chrome.
But that was also back in the days when kids walked to school uphill everyday, against the blowing snow with only one boot. And faced the same thing on the way home. Funny how it was uphill to school and also on the way home back then.

Hi FisherGirl.. I used Mitchell Garcia reels back in the day, still use Mitchell a lot. And still have some of the old ones around too :) When you bought them they came with 2 spools for the reel. One spool on the reel and one under your arm-pit. Just had to be deadicated to landing that chrome.
Also as I pointed out I am going back 30 years, we could basically light fires where ever we wanted to warm-up and to warm up gear.

Alfie.
