Going on the May long weekend to a cottage on Healy Lake near Mactier , Ontario its near the muskokas i think. Wondering where would there be a good lake and marina near by to fish. There will be 10 guys and like to do a friendly tournament while were up there at the cottage with our family. Would need like 4 boats and fishing for pike and walleye would be nice. Hope somone can help and thanks.

Welcome, sorry but haven't been to that part of ontario for fishing before. Gluck and maybe you can show us what types of spots produced for you!

Well at the Port Severn exit on the 400 theres a resort type property there and they rent boats, it's called Muskeys Landing. It's in Georgian Bay. We've caught fish there all the time example: 22lbs muskie, 6 lbs walleye, 5 lb bass, 6 lb gar pike and lots of pike ranging from 2lbs - 12lbs. But on that may weekend they don't have enough boats for me or else i would be going back there. I've fished with the guys there the last 4 yrs and it's always been good.

Aslo what does Gluck mean........

it's just short for good luck

by the way, that's a nice assortment of species.
i would love to get into a gar pike. i've only seen two in my life

were those the ones in the bass pro shop aquarium???

gar pike now that I would just love to see in the wild and poss catch one but honestly I aint sure its fair to catch one of those anchient creatures, I would be happy to just see one. Only place is Bass pro!

apparently they are pretty plentiful around georgian bay.
I was there camping last year and a kid caught one by hand by the beach...had awesome markings on it.

the other one i saw from a boat while fishing at west lake. it swam away from my lure haha

i love the moon river, it is my favorite plave on earth, i can't wait till i go up there this summer, that link gave me a heartache

it would be nice if you can post some report with pic.
thx

the moon river is runoff from the bala falls coming out of lake muskoka, in it there are rockbass, smallmouth, muskie, perch, pike, pumpkinseed and longear sunfish, catfish, there used to be tons of whitfish but not so much anymore, walleye and possibly largemouth bass as far as i know, but the walleye populations are disapearring so if i were you i would only go with catch and release for walleye
