Hi everybody,
I live in Barrie and usually go fishing up my way but this Saturday I will be with my family down in Ajax for Easter. It just so happens I will be very close to Duffins Creek. I know from previously living in the GTA that Duffins gets a good run of Steelhead. No-one in my family is an avid fisherman like me so unfortunately I can't rely on any of them to be my "eyes" down there. So...I am asking any of you fellow fisher-people out there if you been over to Duffins Creek this week? I'm just wondering what the run is like this year. I know that the forecast is for rain and I am not overly keen on fishing in the rain but if the fish are in good numbers I would probably go.
If anybody is wondering about how the run in the Notty or other rivers are up my way, I am sorry but I just haven't been out yet so I can't give you a first-hand account. However, I will say that it has been relatively cold this spring compared to others that I can remember. So, my guess is that there is likely still a good run now and for a while to come. Having said this I have been fishing up in this area for a number of years and have always found the runs up here notoriously hard to predict. My best advice is bring a variety of baits (natural and artificial) and you should do alright.
Cheers and Good luck to all on opener.
