Hi All,
We just moved to Canada from Sweden and we will be living here for the next 2 to 3 years depening on my work.
I have been addictive to fishing since i could walk. That means approx. 30 years now. Most of the time I do flyfishing for trout or salomon in rivers but some times trolling as well.
We have already tried some Ice fishing on lake Simcoe but it was bloody cold, so next time we will rent a hut.
Some of my friends will come over in end May and we will go up to Algonquin and do some fishing I think, please feel free to give me better suggestions.
If anybody needs a fishing buddy give me a shout.

/Andreas

Welcome to ontario adreas...if you love fishin' you are gonna love it here! There is some Massive trout and salmon around lake ontario and huron. While you are here go out and get some of the species you have never caught before in sweden....bass, walleye, pike, muskie, sauger, sunfish, ling, lake trout, crappie and a horde of other species are in ontario.
As for the cold in the winter, you'll get used to it....a couple of big lakers on the ice will warm you up! :) You might want to invest in a portable hut off kijiji , get one now at a good deal, then sell it and get your money back when you move.
As for algonquin, its a great place and there is lots of fish, but the really good lakes are off the beaten path and often difficult to get to. The end of may is a perfect time to catch brookies in the park, if the blackflies dont make you go insane...lol
