Hello fellow water enthusaists,
Today at roughly 3:00 a friend of mine sunk his pwc just out of the Grand River in Dunnville/Port Maitland. We tried locating the ski visually however with the 3' rollers and the 1' visiablity we had no luck. Due to the holiday weekend, diver's arent an option, or feasable given the visability. The same goes for a Helicopter.
I am asking if there is anyone willing to give the area a pass with thier Fish Finders/Sonar/ Side Sonar. I've been looking at some units that have incredible level of detail, however, at the cost of anywhere upwards of $1000 and lacking a boat to mount it on leaves my buddy out of luck. I haven't spoken to him regarding a reward, but I can guarantee one will be rewarded.
The ski is made of fiberglass with a aluminun engine block, and wieghs approx 275 pounds. From what details I can gather I am hoping it sank to the bottom, rather than getting moved around submerged with the current and is sitting waiting for us, however, if we could get confirmation before calling in a diver it would help immensely.
I realize this is a long shot posting on here, but we are trying every possible avenue. I have drafted up a image from Google Maps to give you an idea of location where we marked when it went down.
Location of nearest launch
628-936 Feeder Canal Rd
Lowbanks, ON N0A 1K0
42.859640, -79.573919
Thank you
Mike
