Well i have been here for a bit now, but i never formally introduced myself. I live between barrie and midland and love to fish all different kinds of ways for all species of gamefish, My favorite fishing is for rainbows/browns/brookies in the spring in small secondary rivers. There is nothing like hunting for 25"-32" rainbows in 10 feet wide 2 feet deep crystal clear rivers that almost nobody else fishes!! I only use spinning gear for all species and do well for trout, bass, pike mostly.(a few walleye in the summer but not many) We also icefish quite a bit for crappie, pike, brookies + lakers. We try to get walleye through the ice but it hardly ever happens unfortunately.
Before i iunjured my neck seriously 8 years ago i used to do hardcore backpacking/portaging trips to lakes that have hardly even seen any people and the fishing was quite phenomenal in those lakes for multiple species. Jeez do i miss those trips...lots of work but lots of reward!! I was heavy into fly fishing and flytying before my neck injury, but since it happened i have mostly given it up since fly casting agitates my injury.
