Every time I get back from an outing I always think that I had one of my best battles ever and nothing will top that.

Yesterdays steelie hit so hard it almost ripped the rod out of the holder before I could get a hand on it. When I did get a grasp on things, and a very real wake up call, there was so much torque on the rod I couldn't get it free from the holder. I turned to see a very angry steelie at eye level. 3 massive jumps before taking off and peeling me down to about 10 wraps left on my reel.

Now this was an adrenaline rush!!

When trolling for steelies I use micro crank baits and mepps. Sometimes I'll drop the cannon ball down 10 or 15 ft and drag a mepps around.

Lol I thought I was gonna lose the rod for a second. Once I caught it thought for sure it was gonna snap from the pressure. Definitely hardest hit trolling I've ever had.
