Hey all went out to holmes point today (bunch of us)which the body of water is southern part of lake simcoe. didn't go out for anything specific. the day was nice temperature being about 18, and winds were towards the west. water was still on the cooler side. Today was the day I broke out the baitcaster 7" quantum rod matched with a quantum bill dance reel. first lure of choice was a 5 of diamonds spoon, not much luck, so i went on to the surefire fishgetter lure a #4 mepps spinner and bang pike after pike after pike.(boy was the bite on) so from about 11:30 till 7:00 caught around 6 pike 2 of decent size the rest smaller. Others were fishing with worm rigs, and only catfish and rockbass were being caught. well any way's here's the directions take Hwy 48( markham rd) all the up past georgina and make a left on Holmes point rd, follow all the way till you see the restaurant. Go in and ask to get into the park, it was $20 for the car load but the park is nice. I From the 401 it take about 1 hr driving to get there.

must have been nice fishing on a day filled with good weather and one where fish were caught =).

yea i agree. $20 is quite hefty unless you come with 4 or 5 and divide the cost.

Cool.thx for the report.
Yep,$20 is expensive.Normally park entrance fee for car is like $5-$8

Nice pike...$20, wow, and then gas, and ohh food, what an exspensive day out...but the pike seem to be worth it!
