Horseshoe Island Camp-Mistinikon Lake.......advice?

Hi Guys,
New member here. Just wondering if anyone has ever fished Mistinikon Lake near Matachewan, Ontario. Me and some buddies are heading up there in July for our annual trip. We've been there once before and did fairly well but couldn't seem to nab any lunkers. We ate well all week, pickeral, but we are looking for that 10 lb. fish that we can talk about for years to come. Any advice on what has worked up there for others and maybe some favorite spots would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I stayed a week approx. 20 years ago, so this is not recent info. We didn't catch many pickerel until our last day; the owner took us on his pontoon boat and showed us how.

Use your fish finder or depth finder to locate the deep spots; anchor just up-current from the edge of the hole, then drop your line so it just drops into the hole. No problem catching our limit that evening. No lunkers, but a good feed.

Might even go back this summer or next.
