? Personally I don't have the tools to check the water temp each time out so it's not something I use ever but have considered more and more.

So my ? Would you or do any of you check the water temp and relate that to your fishing trip and species?

Just wondering interested to know all your thoughts.

it is very impotant, it can be the difference between catching a fish or not catching a fish.

I say that it defintely does affect species of fish.
Some are more tolerant of temperature changes and some others, not so much.. so it depends what you're after.

personally, I don't record and take into account the water temp. I'm lazy and just want to get out there and try my luck

agreed, water temp is very important, tells them when to spawn when to go deep, when to do this and that...Thanks for the chart.

thanks, my friend makes crainkbaits and uses this chart to help him decide what depth to set the bait at

Yeah water temp n tide have a huge factor in it all. I learned a lot of this from watching the blue planet documentary.

same here, well my parents do. it teaches you quite a bit. and what they wouldve had to of done to get those shots as well.

That's a great chart. I'm going to print out a copy.

To quote from a book that I have:

"A fish's water temperature preference is the magic number. Locate it, and you will probably find the fish."
