How many rod and reel combos do you own?

Just wondering what you guys like what brands you stick too and what Models just as a general survey... I was wondering what tools everyone is using.

5 combos, 1 mitchell combo, 1 BPS baitcaster combo, 1 ugly stick & decent abu garcia UL reel 2 spools(I change spools regularly ie. 4# to 8# line), 1 ugly stick & new browning(bps) reel(haven't tried it yet), and 1 cheap diawa combo(the loaner).

I use the ugly stick/abu garcia combo the most should have hundreds of hours on it by now.

Does any one do maintainence on their reels? ie lube the bearings....

i have a shimano curado on a BPS extreme rod, citica on a BPS extreme rod, and 2 cheap shimano combos you can get from crappy tire.

I guess i'm kinda bias towards shimano, but it would be nice to see what others are using and maybe i can try them too.

i'm also biased towards shimano. their products have never let me down.

If you are just talking about bass fishing, I think you need to have a minimum of 3 rods; one for drop shotting, one for crankbait casting and one for flipping and pitching. This does not include all the specialized rods and reels for rainbow, panfish, musky and pike, ice fishing and for trolling. So if you fish for all these species, your going to end up with alot of equipment.

2 fly rods
1 shimano baitcaster
1 shimano spinning setup

I own or have recently owned (sold a couple recently):

Rods: Gloomis, Browning, Fenwick, Shimano, Shakespear, Berkley.
Reels: Daiwa, Shimano, Quantum.

Many combos have been made from the above.

When a good drag is important (for fighting bigger fish like Salmon, Steelhead and Carp), nothing beats the higher end Daiwas IMHO.

The best bait-catsing reel I've had was the Shimano Calcutta.

I have lost count. I havea few differnet rods, Fenwick,Browning,Loomis,Nemo,Diawa,St.Croix,BPS,and Shakespere.
Reels, Okuma,Diawa,Shimano,Islander,Mitchell,Shakespere,BPS and Penn.
Everything from Icerods to downrigging rods....gets outta hand sometimes

Ive borrowed a freind of mine's 6' SpiderShaft rod. All carbon. Stupidly light, real nice cast control on it. It just doesnt break down, and I am terrified of snapping it.

I find the okuma reels to be pretty decent, I got my first fenwick rod recently but it is the lower line I guess it was about 80 bucks never used one before. I still have a blackwidow Daiwa Rod which is pretty decent although old now.

i prefer Quantum gear. as it stands now... i have 8 combos. BUT, i have 3 new reels, and i;m just waiting for the 3 rods i have ordered for those reels to get here and i'll then have 11 combos. plus, 2 ice combos as well.

I stop counting after 5. I have about 5-6 working setups. Others are just spare rods and reels. I have an ice rod that hasn't broken water yet...boo.

I have never broken a rod on a fish either. Sometimes I wonder when I read the rod reviews on Cabelas and Bass Pro whether the people are throwing the rods at the fish to break them LOL. Unless there is a flaw in the rod there should not be a way to break one if you have your drag setup correctly and you know how to properly use the rod so you don't put too much stress on it.
