How rough can our inland seas get?

Enough to sink the Edmond Fitzgerald. From what my buddy says, he's seen 35+ feet in his time as Coast Guard Boson on the Great Lakes.

Yeah the Great Lakes can get very rough. The worst I've ever seen is only 10 ft waves crashing onto the TO Islands. People who go out in these small boats with a small outboard must be nuts. Sandy is coming but other times storms can whip up quickly and alot faster then most people's boat can go. I asked a marine surveyor guy I knew what is the minimum size boat that's safe for just Lake O, he says atleast a 30' with 1 or 2 engines. Better to have more power to get yourself out of a bad situation. GL are dangerous lakes to be on. It will be interesting to see how Sandy will effect Lake O.

Its also going to effect other things. For example last night I had to drive from London to Peterborough and man was it ever tough driving, and I hear it is only going to get worse. Basically just be careful everybody if you are out in this storm whether you are near the water or just driving around.

What size float do you recommend for 37 foot waves?
Lmao. You would indeed need a large float. You would also need to be on top of a ladder to keep track of it when it drops into the 37 foot valleys between the waves. Being in construction, I really don't think you want to be at the top of a ladder the next few days :)
