How to determine the angle to mount a radar antenna...?

Hi all, I'm trying to Install a radar unit on my boat and can't determine the easiest way to locate the mounting angle it should be at for optimum performance. Is there a general rule for this or an easy way to figure it out? My unit has no instructions.

why not search the radar brands website they must surely have instructions.....
