Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone knows any links showing how to spool a Centerpin reel. I've spooled new line on a spinning reel hundereds of times but never on a Centerpin reel which I assume is more difficult. Any help would do. Thanks.

Put a pen or something through the spool of line and get someone to hold it so the line comes off properly onto the reel.

Start reeling and basically move the line back and forth slowly with your hand or fingers so it comes out evenly on the centerpin.

It is exactly same way as you would spool a bait casting reel or spinning reel. you always spool off the same and the when the time comes put the spool opposite way in case line starts to twists.

Step one is, putting about 100yrds of backing line/darcon line on your reel. then depending how deep your spools is about 200-400 yards of your favourite line on it. you do this; one to have better hook sets and less line inbeding. Also much cheaper than mono or braid to fill the depth of your reel. too much line will make line twists and makes casting harder. to little line makes it for a very short cast if you can even cast with that little of line, meaning it will get stock on the spool as you are trying to rip off the line. now if you do a full wallis cast then don't worry, you will be fine with less line.

As Klik said put backing first and then your main line,

i spooled my centerpin by slowly going back and forth with my thumb for a even spool, it takes some time but it works.

just take your time and dont rush it :) or you'll get little mountians :p

I lol'd when I saw ALN replied to this thread. So have you finished spooling that pin yet?
