Well my first big trip this year is over and I wish I could say that the results are better but I still had fun. I caught a hole bunch of small pike but no walleye. However my fishing partner caught a 11.5lbs pike and entered it in the derby and got to have his name on the top of the leader Board(even if it was just for a minute, literally) at the end of the weekend he finished 7 witch is fantastic considering there were over 3000 fisherman. Could have caught some walleye if I could tolerate fishing within 10 feet of other boats but that's just not my type of fishing so we decided to go for the pike instead. So how was your opener?

wow zone 20 sounds like a lot of fun.
I stay in zone 15 - 18 once I can go panfishing

7th out of 3000 isn't bad at all....

I'm counting down for Rice lake walleye this Saturday! So far the weather looks good.

Nice Bowfin I remember the first time I caught this fish while fishing at six mile lake that was the only time I caught one but man these things can fight. What bait did you use I am wondering cause I caught mine on a yellow inline spinner
