I grew up in Eastern Europe, and as a child I used to fish a lot. Some 25 years later, it's time to pick up this lovely past time activity again
The other day I hit the Bait & Tackle store on Upper James, and furnished myself with some equipment, I hope I made good beginner's choices:
Outdoors card and fishing license
Berkley Lightning Rod - 6'6"
Pflueger President Fishing Reel - 6935
8 lb line
Some weights
Size #4 hooks
Slip bobber with stopper on top
Back in the days I used to fish in lakes using side-slip floats, unfortunately I couldn't find such sold here. I guess I'll have to adjust
I will post a series of beginner's questions in different threads, hopefully the lovely community in this forum will be able to help with some. Really hoping to get out and go fishing this weekend, kids and my wife are always excited to be outdoors anyway
