Just wanted to share this PB steely I caught today fishing a Huron river. Caught it float fishing on a 8mm bright orange bead. Must have been in the river for a while, the darkest steelhead I've seen caught here. Water levels had been up and were just coming down today, so you'd think fish being caught today would be bright...
The confluence I normally fish at this spot has a nice seam that I know always holds a fish. I was expecting to find the 10 or so cars at the bridge, but wasn't expecting to have the main pool all to myself. Everyone was lazy and there were about 6 anglers right under the bridge. I walked upriver about 10 mins and that was all it took to find unfished water. Today with the water levels being up, the main stream was kind of overpowering the creek stream, so the whole seam and pool were flowing differently. Started a float drift and he dunked the float about 100ft downriver from me, right in the seam where you'd expect him to be. It was a great fight and thanks to the guys who stopped to snap the pics.
