Thanks to the two guys who referred me to this place. It's a beautiful property and the operator is a good guy who runs a nice operation.

I had previously been to stocked trout ponds years ago with no success. Too few fish and of small size in large ponds. This place has a small bait fishing pond with tonnes of fish and of good size. 1.5 lb average. Not like it's shooting fish in a barrel though. You still gotta work for your fish.

I don't particularly like trout fishing for real so I took the shortcut. Still a great feeling to hook and reel one in with it jumping all over the place. My gf's mom loves fish so she'll appreciate these three.

ya my 3 fish were all not far from 2 lbs. add the tax and that's the cost. though there are some big guys in there pushing 3 lbs.

uhhhh.....work for your fish?? lol
lol. a lil bit.

there was another guy fishing. using worms. he tried for an hour straight and landed only one. lost another after a 20 second fight.

the difference between this place and others i've been to as that the fish are bigger and way more concentrated. dozens and dozens swimming in schools. you would think throwing a worm into the middle of 50 fish would produce instant results but surprisingly no.

i was using corn and it took me about 40 minutes to get 3 on solidly but actually only landed 2. then i tried shrimp and it produced instantly. had a hook up right away and lost it. next try landed one.

U should ask them if u can use their pellets as bait lol

ive always found catching pond trout hard to catch, its like trying to feed a fat kid a carrot. the only thing ive had luck on is a dew worm on the bottom with light line.

I passed the sign for this on Saturday night which struck up a convo about taking my son and nephew out there in spring.
like with other stocked ponds, do you HAVE to keep what you catch?

Can you do C&R?

You do have to keep them if you're doing bait fishing. But they have another pond for fly fishing where you pay 25 bucks and do C&R for 4 hours. But you need a fly rod and flies. I saw 2 people there doing that. The fish in the fly pond weren't as big though but there were plenty.

I think it's a great idea to take kids if you like to eat fish. I also had the idea of next summer on the way to cottage or back to bring a couple kids to catch 2 trout each. Under 10 years old is free to fish. Let them each catch a couple with an ultra light set up and take home 4 fish. The size of the fish here are bigger than any other trout pond I've seen. They would give a nice fight to a youngin.

Thanks!
I am going to look into more information.

My fear is they will fight a trout and somehow one of the two of em or both will fall in (both of em are 3 years old)

I guess they don't have their own life jackets yet. Gonna have to bring another adult with you unless they are well behaved and follow instructions to sit on the bench while you hold on to the other one while he's reeling in.

Yea they both have life jackets, both of em have been in swimming classes so they have no fear of the water. For the most part they are well behaved, but I mean walking in a parking lot with 2 kids I find challenging enough. Immediate dangers like being at the waters edge alone, That just sends shivers down my spine. We have taken them both lake fishing before, they have those kids rods and both are really good at casting. LOL I am gonna get a harness and tie em off to a tree before they can trout fish.

Hey I have gone there two, I have caught one there. I have caught trout elsewhere but it was fun. I got mine on the fifth cast, they were slimy and it was neat how they poked theyre top fin out of the water. They put up a decent fight nothing compared to a pike though. The guy in the store was creeped out at first that I wanted his flies, I tried catching them with worms but never worked before. I think that they try to keep them hungry. Poor place used to have a lot more thanrainbows salmon, char, etc no one has been fishing there that often.

Can someone PM me whereabouts of this place. would love to take my wife so i can get her to start fishing :) fingers crossed. :)
