I was able to get out this morning to Pier 8 in Hamilton and try out a new bait. I don't know if I posted about this but i don't fish with traditional Euro style carp gear. Not that it is not effective because it is, but I just prefer this way. I use a baitcaster reel and an Ugli Stik rod.

For bait I use puffed corn on the hook with more bait packed around it. I use a 2/0 hook with an egg sinker.

All baited up and ready to go.

I had a lot of fun this morning and landed about 10 fish . Here are pics. The water is still warm enough so that the carp really give you a tussle.

Fall time is big fish time and the big girls put the feed bag on before the cold sets in. I am looking forward to it. :D

I have soo many different fish I want to target...i think i know why i don't catch much, because i go fish for one type one day, than another my next time out, i don't even be consistent in my returns to locations lol.

I meant to ask you what brand is the puffed corn? I only seem to be able to find the breakfast cereal kind, and I assume that's not it....

EDIT* Natures path organic corn puffs at bulkbarn any good...?

Awsome, couldn't have picked a nicer day today. Weather looks great, warm and sunny with a slight breeze. Beauty fish to boot, cheers.

That's it. They work the best.
