So ..... been on the hunt for a cheaper then cheap boat ..... didnt want a tinny as it wouldnt work for all the boating im wanting to do ..... so i spoke to my pops n told him to be on the look out ....... Low n behold he found one not to far from the homestead in sutton Its a Oldie and in need of some TLC ..... but for the age and shape of this ole girl .... im a happy camper ..... it was owned by a older ladie who had it since new ... she barely used it ..... the guy who had it next was the owner we bought it from ... he cant seem to find the ownership but i kno thats not a huge concern as we can get that info with or without the paperwork .... anywho .... its ether a 63 or 65 Atlas Traveller Closed Bow 6 seater 18.5 ft inboard V4 Chev motor power tilt , was a very nice boat back in its day .... but the guy who had it prev ... didnt kno to much about wiring .... and needless tosay thats where we think our problems start .... and hopefully end ... :) she turns over ... but wont catch ...... so we start poking around with a test light only to figure out we cannot find a ground in the front of the boat for the life of us !!! when powered up by key from front ... F-pump primes system ... so we are thinking its a solenoide of some sort ...... we have not purchased the boat yet .... the guy was asking 500 gonna start @ 3 and see where it goes from there ...... barely any ware n tare on the bottem of the boat the carpet is rough but thats cause last owner lost the cover for it .....

so 18.5 ft closed bow 6 seater 1965 Atlas Traveller (gas tank in bow Access from top of deck of bow)
inboard V 4 Cyl 90 hp
power start power tilt horn
Trailer Included :)

i Couldnt Say no really

Just needs some TLC would love to giver a paint job as that rear case would look sweet lol :) or even throw a 6 cyl in it first :) Anywho on with the pics (Please dont mind the Father Driving the ATV without a Helmet .... He's French an old school LOL )

2 inch Sq Tubing with 1/8th steel supports mounting it to the frame rails :) should be more then enough to pull a ton im more worried about my 4cyl being able to pull it in an outta the water LOL should be fine

Comments are expected but i dont mind ..... i got the metal and fabrication tools so why not right ??? :)

Should be up there 2 morrow i think to finnish her off .... gotta find some more tubing to complete ... prime n paint and slap her on .... :)

Good for you man.. Congrats,
If you have the skills and material, I see no reason why you wouldn't want to make it on your own! *Thumbs-up*

GL man..

What was the final price? I had a fishing buddy own one of these years ago. Fun boat and easy to get on and off the trailer. The trailer looks brand new.
Congrats on the boat.
Now get into some fish.

well .... we asked the owner if we could brign it to our place to work on it in the mean time he is trying to get the papers for it so no final price has been made yet untill the papers have been foudn .... but really its not a big deal to get new papers of ownership made up on the boat .... i think i'll go as high as 500 ... trailer needs some new tires as she sat in the sun for at least a year without moving and as much as theres lots of tread left .... the cracks in between the treads were almost as big as the gaps between the treads themselves  so she wont be going far till they get replaced....... :) in due time she will see water

a nice paint job would really make it stand out! I love the look of older boats like this, make sure to post pics after you get her all fixed up

Sweet lines and curves eh! Retro! That thing looks like it is gonna move on the water.

You have to post some pics as your work progresses!

That's a pretty good boat :) and quite a decent price for it too, now you just gotta get her in the water and catch some fish

I would turn the power up on your welder to get better penetration, not trying to be rude just pointing out a safty tip. I wouldent wanna see a thread about how the boat made it to the ditch instead of the lake

if you want i have a warlock 440 CU inch chevy motor with a kenny bell supercharger...for sale---it looks like it will fit--just need a water jacket.for cooling purposes....and a helmet...was intended for my rx8 v8 conversion believe it or not but it would put that boat at speeds of massive proportions lol

Lmmfao. Oh dude. That would be fun. Lol. If I had the cash. I'd be in lol. What other fun toys ya got ????

And Ty or the welding tip. Took a few tries to get that bead sound you look for. But none the less Ty :)

my main project is maxda rx8 almost completely converted for track---still daily driver---its gonna have a 450 horse quad rotor in it as soon as i can find the time...had all the toys no interest in the repair and maitainance phase of the toy cycle so i ditched it all, my buddy and i bough a tahoe in the summer from BPS---thats been fun,.

and i dont think that boat needs paint---a good compound and a polish then maybe some gel coat and that boat will only be missing crockett and tubbs and thier pet alligator--had a few boats in my day---funnest was a vood with a 50 on it---

good thing is she is a heavy boat she will slice through the water like an old schooner--steady and true baby

That was a concern of mine. But at 19 ft and a deep hull she should be fine on non choppy days on simcoe got property on rice lake as well so it should do great there
