Just had a quick question for all you guys. I'm moving to Lake Louise to work for the summer, from may--sept. Of course the first thing I was concerned about is, where can I fish on my off days, lol. After a number of google searches, and reading everything I can, doesn't look like the best place to fish for someone with no car. (however Im sure there would be buses I can take to certain areas). I was wondering if any of you guys have been out there and either fished, or even heard of people fishing around that area? I plan on just bringing a 5wt and a medium action spinning outfit because of all the luggage I will be bringing. This might be a long shot but I hope someone has just a little bit of info!

Cheers

Can't help ya - but the area is amazing and a helicopter probably works better than a car. I'd bring the rod for sure and talk with locals - a couple beers on your tab at a local dive is your best friend

Lake Louise and the stream that flows out of it has little cutthroats. There's a falls close to Banff Springs Hotel there (Bow Falls?) that you will be able to use your 5 wt. The lakes are deep and cold with lakers, but you'll have to get to the bottom for those. Try Lake Minnewanka when its not so choppy for lakers. You should be able to find some dollies in the Bow and Kananaskis rivers.

ps. Don't forget the golf clubs!
