Hi all,

I'm looking at purchasing a used aluminum boat, a v hull. It has no floor, and I was thinking of installing one and or a casting deck. Anyone have suggestions or experience?

I have 2 pieces of 6mm sintra with outdoor carpet laminated to both sides. It's flexible enough not to damage the hull, and because it's covered on both sides actually protects the rivets. What's nice about it is you don't slip - it's good underfoot and removeable so you can powerwash it. I cut one of them tapered to fit the front.
My father in law had something similar. He used 1/4" plywood - not as nice on bare feet, not as much protection for the boat, but did the trick for him. Fishing from a small aluminum boat is pretty good once you get used to it.
I think if you really want to build a flat platform to stand on, you'll probably have to span the seats and use them for support.
