Hey All,

Thought I would drop by and introduce myself, seems like a nice corner of the internet you all have setup here. Don't worry, I don't plan on asking where all of your money spots are right away, as that's clearly a rude way to start off a relationship here.

A bit about myself. I am a late 30's professional male living in Georgetown. I used to fish a ton as a kid, did it alot with my grandfather. As he passed away recently, it has ignited a need to get back into it again. Spent the winter on the hardwater, primarily up in Simcoe. But now that the season is all but over, gonna get back to normal softwater stuff. I don't own a boat, so everything I do will be from shore.

Spent last weekend freezing my but off at Port Dalhousie with no luck. Debating on what to do this weekned. Was thinking of hitting the mouth of Port Credit or potentially going to Fairy Lake in Acton. Other spots I plan on hitting in the near future are: Jordan Harbour, Island Lake, Belwood and the Niagara River.

I'll never say no to any tips if anyone wants to drop em, but at this stage just dropping in to say hi.

Welcome back to fishing. Its a bit of a learning curve but you seem to be right into it. If you have specific questions feel free to ask away, the search feature unlocks tonnes of hidden stuff in the backpages if you're willing to put in a couple hours of info hunting and finally, I have met my closest friends through this forum, stick around - we're a good bunch most of the time ;)

Thanks for the welcome. You are right, there is a learning curve for sure. Been keeping it simple so far, been using roe bags on a simple leader setup. Maybe I gotta switch it up as I haven't caught anything.

Welcome to OFF!

How'd you do on the hardwater and what species do you plan on targeting now?
Performance has been up and down. I'll fish anything really, depends on where we choose to go. Been after pike, Whitefish, Lakers and Perch. Caught all but a laker, it has proven to be elusive.

Hoping to get one more outing this weekend on Simcoe for some perch.
