I haven't fished for salmons in years. I saw next week's weather forecast and I was immediately reminded of salmons. It will be raining the entire week next week, will there still be salmons swimming upstream? I usually go fishing in Humber River near Old Mill (?) and sometimes in Credit River at Erindale Park.

Also, for future reference, what is usually the optimal time to go fishing for salmon in Toronto? I've found a variety of different answers on Google, ranging from August to October.

Get out there...you might still get the odd salmon...its worth a try...

A buddy caught one last weekend, pretty nasty. For the most part I'd say the fresh or good eaters are few or nil at this point.

There were whispers about fresh chinooks the other day. Yesterday I hooked into a silver tank of a fish, if it was a steely it was 20 lbs, and took 200 yards of line in a matter of seconds, blasting through the pool and Screaming down the rapids. My guess, a chinny :)

I got one as well. it was beat all to hell. Seen a butt load of them still. A few were swimming around but most were sitting close to shore in the calm water Im guessing waiting to die. You could walk right up to them and they can't even be bothered to move

there were a few fresh ones mixed with the battered and beaten ones where i went,my heart sunk as a watch a very slow hen swam by my feet with a williams wobbler still attached to it's tail. as much as i love to catch the fresh ones, they're out-numbered by the "scarred" ones so I just moved to the outer spots in the hopes of getting y first trout of the season. managed to catch 2 small "bows" on worms despite the pouring rain and cold temperature (sorry no pictures). it was a busy area as they were clearing boats on the marina. No steelies nor brownies.
