New to the fourms and anticipating hostility, but Im curious if anyone would be kind enough to tell me if theres any soft water to be found in the east. Id check myself but the closest trib in mind is 120kms away

just went for a walk east trib. after 2 cold days of average -15...river is pretty much un-fishable. give it at least a week straight of -2s or -1s...there are some areas that have soft water by about 5ft and 2ft wide...so that's promising enough by next week if the temperatures rise. i'd go for harbor fishing if the winds calm down a bit. this long weekend is all about staying home for me. What the hell is going on with WFN anyways? there's not a lot of good quality shows anymore...

exactly and everyone claims their success has something to do with the lures and not the technique and area where they're fishing....I saw one show and this dude was like, "i have never used this lure before but this is amazing" (while wearing a shirt & hat combo of the lure manufacturer....

Sadly not shows anymore.
Just a half hour infomercial.
Like watching the shopping channel.

pretty much. And they can't even show you a cast, retrieve and hook up video seamlessly. it's about cast cast cast....cut...then landing a fish...which to me looks a bit shady to begin with...lol...or i'm just spoiled by youtube underwater fishing videos...
