my two cents? I would avoid Jordan Valley/Bailey Bridge like the plague, seriously, it is so heavily fished by morons that it's just a bad scene. The water is so low the poor fish don't stand a chance and the runs get smaller every year yet the amount of people down there leaving their crap behind increases yearly.
why not truck into the gorge or cast from a pier and fish for these magnificent fish in a setting that truly represents and celebrates the greatness and majesty of the Chinook. Why rub shoulders with mouth-breathing knuckle-draggers who 9 times out of ten are "catching" their salmon with questionable techniques.
The sight of slit-open females littering the banks is enough to make one give up the sport. And what happens down there after darkness is a crying shame.
... a great place to show children the "wonder of the salmon migration" (if you are lucky and the caveman count is low that day) but the place has become the low hanging fruit of fishing opportunities.
