Hi everyone... my name is Frank, and I reside in Toronto Ontario.
I used to be so into fishing that is was all I thought about day in and day out. Then about fifteen years ago I went through a major life change with a divorce and pretty much everything I loved went out the window, and haven't fished since. Still have all my gear... about twelve rods of various types... seven tackle boxes full to the brim... waders... twelve foot aluminum with a 9.9 Johnson... used to fish for everything Ontario had to offer... always made it a point of hitting every river and tributary on all openers... I really was one of the ten percent that caught ninety percent of the fish... really miss it all and practically forgot what it feels like to have something pulling on the line... Anyhow, getting old now that I just past my fiftieth birthday... bought my first fishing license since 1999 thinking that I might give it a go once again... kind of feel lost about it right now in that all my old fishing buddies went by the way side... hoping to learn some tips as to what is on the bite when these days... the past is kind of a blur from the trauma, so lost all my memories of when salmon trout and stuff begin hitting the rivers, as well as my favorite old holes in the Kawarthas... Anyhow, maybe this will be another new life change for some of the old happy smiling days. Truth of the matter is that I have never gone fishing to catch fish, it was always a matter of just being out there on the water whether by boat or walking the rivers, and the fish were just a bonus for the love of being there... only kept what I was planning to eat on the spot, and have never taken any to bring home, always thought that those that did so were the problem with over fishing... could be wrong but that is me.
Looking forward to reading more here and maybe making some new friends... best of luck everyone!!
