Hello all,
So this year my interest in fishing has reached its peak. I became tired of the usual fishing from shore and only catching petty perch, sunfish and small rock bass, so I bought a fishing kayak last week and plan on going out on the water about twice a week.
My spot is typically by a bridge (off CKL Road) in Bobcaygeon/Lindsay. My best catches there have thus far been a Muskie and a large Rock Bass (couldn't tell you the length nor weight, although I now plan on keeping records of such).
Only yesterday did it come to my attention that the Bass (both small and large) only come out near shore in the evening around 6PM, give or take. I usually arrive between 8 and 10, and leave before 3PM. I have planned my next visit for the evening to see the difference.
However, I would like to try out different lakes where the fishing is said to be good. Any suggestions? Preferably somewhere with parking and a spot to load a kayak. Also somewhere located within 2 hours of Toronto/Brampton. Where I go as mentioned above, you're free to park anywhere on the shoulder, which is very convenient.
I'm hoping to try out Belwood Lake in Caledon this week as well.
So yeah, any other kayak fishers out there?
Thanks.
