Gidday!
I'm a kiwi fisherman currently living in New Zealand on the east coast and am planning to be in Kincardine in July for a few months.
Just got a couple of questions about fishing in the area.
Firstly is it worth bringing my gear over or is it easy/cheap enough to buy gear. I've got a 6-7 weight fly rod with a few different lines (floating, sinking etc) and a small spinning setup which i've used to catch trout up to about 8-9lbs with. Would these be fine? I would imagine that most of the flys and lures you guys use would be different so would probably just buy them from a local store when I arrive.
Does anyone know of any good backcountry fishing trips that yo can take in the Kincardine area? I'm planning to bring a tent and pack etc so would be good to do some hiking to some good spots.
Also it seems there are many different types of freshwater fish that u can target. In New Zealand we really only have Brown or Rainbow Trout (and the odd salmon down South). Are there any good websites that have information on fish species and how best to target them?
Any other advise for fishing in canada?
Cheers
