I'm like you as long as it pulls, I'll fish for it! :D

I use hard baits more then soft plastics, but I hope to use jigs, topwater and plastics more this season

I use 10lb mono, but that's because I often fish areas where there are lots of pike and I don't want to use a leader...

Hey Mr B.
When you talk about the " Ole Granny" I'm assuming you mean the Grand? Lot's of good Bass, and other fishing in there.
I'm down there lots once season opens for Bass, Walleye, Pike etc. And Cats always.

I think we are OK to name a river when Trout is not in the discussion :)
Was down to the Grand last night with 2 friends drifting worms under a float. I got 2 Channels, 1.5 lbs and about 4 or 5 lbs. Both fought like they were bigger. Also hooked an acrobatic Smallie about 2 lb, photo and release. Pics will be posted soon.
I like minnows under a float usually on the Grand, it gives you a chance at almost anything that swims there. Off hand I can think of a dozen different types of fish I have caught using minnows there.

Hey alfie, congrats on the catches, do you ever keep any cats for eating?

I've heard they are good, but I'm mostly photo and release. I'm not against keeping fish, but mostly I only keep ones that are hooked in the gills or seem injured.
