While I do believe that shining a light on Joseph Kony is a great idea, there is always two sides to the story.

Invisible Children (Not for profit organization) top 3 leaders rake in around $90,000 each year from the donations that are received.

I hate to be that guy, but I believe everyone deserves to have an informed decision before they decide to donate their own money.

Thanks for posting that Mike.

Seems to be making a huge push. 3 days ago was the first I've heard of this, now I'm seeing it posted almost every site I go to.

Be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Agreed that this is a good cause, Joseph Kony needs to be stopped and the children saved from his evil.
I watched that whole video and was waiting for what came at the 25 minute mark, " And a small donation."
Of course I am not one to pass judgement, but it is being reported on the news today that only a little over one third of the money donated to Invisible Children is actually going toward the cause. 35%. What they are doing is indeed commendable, and now that this has gained world wide publicity, thanks to Invisible Children, we can all make a difference. I personally will not be donating anything to Invisible Children due to the possible shadyness of their finances. I said possible.
We can all still call or email our political leaders to keep the pressure on to capture this evil and put a stop to him.

Alfie.

i dont donate to anything but MY future... i cant afford to...

that being said... ill share videos and spread the word of a good cause...thats free...

but here is an actual breakdown of finances made public by "invisible children"

not all the money can go to the people... programs and advertising cost money... and without advertising... most of us would have never heard of this criminal...

People need to be paid for their work! Great work by this guy, really knew how to put it all together and make it happen doing what he did, very, very smart. I too, would like to see how this plays out. 65% to operate though, and the execs making $90,000 eah year... <_< Does that include $300 breakfast when they are meeting other execs?

BUT if it wasn't for this operation and its costs, Kony may have never been taken out. Like the prevous post stated, it does cost money to operate, but for the execs makng 90,000 a year... wonder what happens when Kony doesn't get caught. He better make sure his men don't kill any American troops!

A few good points in the last 2 minutes but she said "like" wayyyy too many times for me to take her seriously. And she started off at the beginning saying Kony is dead and then said there are rumors of him being dead and then he is in another country? Which is it, and is there any truth to any of that?

FYI, charities are only obligated to donate 10% of all charitable earnings.. The rest goes into the Exec's pockets.
This is especially true for all charities in North America. So if you thought 35% was bad.. well you won't be happy to hear what some of the other larger charitable organizations are donating..
-Did you know that the money sent to places like Haiti, Thailand have not even touched the ppl that need it?

Fukn pathetic!

and if you had of watched the video you would have known that kony has moved out of uganda into surounding countries... so yeah...in 2010 uganda probably wasnt that bad.... and its probably even better now... the one guy that made the video has been trying to get kony captured for 8 years now...

this is just a dumb broad trying to get youtube hits...

shes just like the dummies that say global warming is a scam...
