hello all. I am new to the Ingersoll area. I normally fish the Notty and,Maitland rivers and various ports which was not a problem before I moved from Kitchener. My question to all is does the Big Otter river out of Port Burwell or the river out of Port Bruce get runs of salmon and rainbow. If so I have not seen anyone tossing lures for salmon. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Yeh fished off of Port Bruce in July ,August for perch-Fantastic Averaged 40-50 per day-a real treat!!!!

Hey Danny,

I was out in Port Burwell camping last weekend and Big Otter was running very dirty so I didn't bother to fish it. I did however do some research prior to heading out there. Check out the link below posted by another user. Seems to me like Big Creek out of long point might be the better river to fish. It's about a half hour farther drive time but has an extended season below Tillsonburg. Port burwell isn't a better drive for me compared to the maitland however if the fishing is decent might be worth me dragging my trailer out there for a couple of days worth of fishing. If you decide to give it a go please post how it is!

Cheers.

The salmon arn't worth fishing for in lake erie. Wait till the water temperature cools down a bit more and there will probably be steelhead in there.
