So comes the time of year when I have to travel out into deep water to track down my favorite fish species. It was a beautiful day out on the lake with winds less than 10 km giving it the glass effect.

As soon as we hit 100 FOW we both hit little king shakers back to back. A good start and kicked the skunks out of both yaks. A couple hours pass then we both hit decent steelies in 160fow. Myself getting all excited and acting like a noob get my lines all tangled and wraped around my trolling motor. Fish landed though so I was a happy camper.

We had to head in early as the wives were callin the shots and not happy we were out enjoying the morning without them lol. We got back to 100fow and something hit and stole my lure on the strike (only running 8 lb mono on a spinning reel on right side).

I tied another lure on and dropped the downrigger back down to depth. Immediately after the rod shot down with attitude..... at last this it what I came for, a Chinook. Bail starts screaming and the chase was on! Almost lost all my line on this guy and wow was my heart pounding. Got him up and the lure gets all tangled in the net.....smh. No worries, I reach down to get the net untangled and the hook pops free. A sportsman's release and it lives to fight another day.

Enjoy the chase!!
