Lake Superior north shore fishing trip

Hi Folks!

I´m planing a fishing trip with my wife from Barrie to Thunder Bay in late April (probably in the last week of April). My focus is fish for resident brookies and steelies in Lake Superior tributaries and also some creeks and streams around Sudbury area. But I don´t know if the rivers and lakes ara totally ice free around late April (because I´m also thinking to bring a float tube to fish in the lakes). Any help and tips will be very appreciate!

unless it's a well insulated float tube i think it will be too cold for one

I'm not sure about the lakes in the area, but the tribs should be open by late April. There is definitely some decent steelheading to be had on the Lake Superior tribs at that time... not as many Steelhead as the Lake O tribs, but still decent from what I hear.
