I have never fished Temagami, but here are some Laker tips. Look for deep water 80" - 100'. You will catch them shallower, but they tend to be smaller fish. The big ones stay deep most of the time. In terms of tackle, live minnow always work, big white tube jigs and twister tails on a 3/8 oz. jighead, many spoons tipped with a minnow and the large jigging Rapala with a minnow on the treble has worked for me as well. Good luck and give us a report when you get back........

Thanks for the info J'snest, have white tub jiggs (salted) heard they produce when nothing else is working.
What size line do u recomend for these large lakers? I"m worried about it wearing on the ice.

I'm old school (and old age). I just use 12-15 lb mono. Berkely makes an Ice Fishing line that seems to work for me, but I'm sure some of the younger guys would recommend a braided line with a florocarbon leader On a live minnow rig I do put a 6lb leader with a single livebait hook (wider gap) and a slip sinker. On that rig leave your bail open or your drag backed-off. Let the fish run with it. Lakers tend to grab their food and run off with it before they actually inhale it. When you see your line stop give the fish a couple seconds and then just start to crank it in. You should feel the wieght build up on your line. If not leave it there a little longer. If the fish hasn't taken your minnow there is a good chance it will come back a second time.
