HI everyone,

I am new to this forum, I am a newbie looking for some good shore spot to fish large mouth bass and small mouth. I usually go to chemong to fish, only got 1 large mouth, others are sunfish and perch. Anyone can give me some good place to fish on shore near GTA?

Thank you very much,

First off, welcome to OFF. Secondly, just a reminder to new members that posts like this should not be posted in the "first reports" section. That section is reserved, as the name implies, for first fishing "reports". :D

As for shore spots in the GTA, there are too many spots to list! I would suggest you try using Google Earth to find bodies of water near you. There are lakes, ponds, rivers, etc.. most bodies of water connected to tributary systems will hold an array of species of fish, including but not limited to bass. Where specifically are you looking to fish? If you narrow down the area, it will help us recommend a few places to try.

Thank you very much.
I think the nearly place to me is Lake simcoe and Lake Scugog. Can you tell me where is the spot that I can do shore fishing for large mouth bass and walleye?
Thanks again

You can shore fish for bass on Lake Scugog in Port Perry. This is a well known spot:

really I have drive pass that place often, I don't even know there can fish, cuz its so weedy. Where is the best/nearly place to park my car? and walk to there?

Anywhere you can stand on shore is a great place to fish.

On Rice Lake there is the government dock in Harwood. Dam/Lock in Hastings and in Peterborough is another great spot. Toronto Islands.

Thank you very much.
I have a question, If I wanna choose either fishing on Scugog lake and river or Bolsover's lock and bridge. Which one do you suggest me to go to fish for large mouth bass and walleye.

Why not try both?

I will try both. But people always say Scugog river and lake is overfished, so I am worry that is Scugog is a good option for shore fishing. Also I am going to fish on Sunday, will Scugog will be so packed? Also I want to know which place has more big fish.
Thanks

arhin, if you do decide to take up openfire's suggestion and go to Lake Scugog to fish for bass I hope you don't keep them for supper. I heard Scugog is probably one of the most polluted lakes in Zone 17.

Really so fish on scugog lake is just for fun? lol can't eat them? then I think I should go on trent canal waterway. LOL
thanks

Anyone fished at Bolsover lock 37 and lock 38 and bridge no.43?
Is there any big mouth bass?
and good suggestion?
