large mouth freanchmans bay

I was at freanchmans bay in pickering. was fishing carp with corn....got two nice sized large mouth bass...yup on corn. hungry fellas. I fish it often. good to see the bass are making a come back!!

yeah they'll eat anything. I too once caught a LM on a few kernals of corn on a hook. Maybe I got lucky off the dock but I dropped the hook in the water and saw 2 bass come up and the larger of the 2 opened his huge mouth and I could see his stomach sphincter and he slammed his mouth shut. I could not believe my eyes, bass on a few kernals?

Congrats on your catch. No pics? You catch any carp?

sounds cool, I've caught bullhead catfish and panfish on corn before.

Welcome, and it's funny you say talk about getting a Bass on corn. On Sat I finally decided to try for some Carp using corn. I had *just* cast my line out and had started turning around (I was standing on a very precarious slope 3 feet above the water) and I had my pole arm out for balance. Just as I'm about to take a step I almost had my pole pulled out of my hand so of course I grab hold tight. I came --><-- close to ending up in the river! Nice little 2lb smallie just about dunked my @$$! LOL! Fun times!
