Hello folks,

I would like to get my 11 and 8 year old for perch or crappie fishing sometime during November.
They are already got a knack of the Sunfish fishing :) , now we need to move on.
Can anyone suggest a place within 1hr drive from Toronto.
We do not have a boat. So we need places where we can fish from a breach, dock etc. or places that have boat rental.

thanks in advance

How about Lake Simcoe, Scugog (Port Perry). Only Scugog has a public dock you can fish off from. Simcoe is not as "outsider" friendly anymore. If you don't plan to eat the fish there is the Canal Rd just south of Cook's bay off the 400.

Good luck.

I drive by Canal road all the time and when ever I see the canal I always wonder if there is any fish in it. Now I know.

I've heard of crappie in Island lake conservation area in Orangeville. I vaguely remember hearing that they also rent boats but am not sure. Cheers.

The perch are in and still coming in so just fish off of local peirs and along the lake. If you find a local pond it will likely have smallish perch in it. Good luck,

Cat

thanks a lot folks.
As soon as i get the clearance form the boss (my lovely wife ) i will gem me boys and the tackle and head to the Simcoe or Scugog
thanks again
