Forum is going to get sick of me...lol. So I start doing really good casting, well good for me and them bam!!! Line is going behind spool again, are you kidding me!!!! take reel back to Gagnons and they can't figure it out even one of the guy who uses one of the original shift models with no issues. They take line off spool and it sits exactly where it should, put line on and a gap opens up again. I will not buy a Rapala Centrepin again. I have went with a Matrix fully ported. A little more money not the abex7 bearings but what good are bearings if you can't use reel. Only thing they can think of is the spool material has changed and it's flexing under line tension but no clue really. Hopefully the Raven plays better for me.

Did the store originally spool it up for you?
Like you I have totally no experience with CP.
I'm not sure if there's maybe some different method to spooling which is different to the basic spinning reel?

I think I'm going to scrub the whole CP idea. To go custom with the only request being for a shallow spool seems redundant.
How do I customize something that I have no idea how it should work.

Amazing in the sense a lot longer, I've witnessed myself. I'm rarely on big water with fewer fisherman. I enjoy interaction with fellow fishermen and gladly share any pool or run. Some guys enjoy their solitude which is fine. I enjoy meeting new people and catching fish together. And as a bonus learn about alot of new spots. Lol. Too social I guess.
