Great reminder FF.
Couple guys I know few years back decided to launch their homemade flat bottom duck boat in MARCH off fifty point.
Gas line froze and waves took them out to nearly Toronto. Oars worn down to almost nothing from frantic rowing trying to get back to shore.Sadly one still missing and the two in life jackets died of hypothermia. At least their families had bodies to bury.

Yea my buddy is part of search and rescue on lake O and I remember him telling me of some body's they had to recover. I truly don't know how he does it and not have nightmares.

We always wear them when conditions dictate. We bought nice jackets that are comfortable to fish in. That makes a big difference. A lot of people just buy crappy jackets because it's law, but it's worth investing in and taking care of a decent life jacket. Ours are Mustang Survival.
