Line freeze

Just wondering if anyone is fishing with braided line this time of year and does it freeze?

it will become like a rosary after a few casts, and after it thaws out on your spool it will leave the line loose, most of the time it bundles up on the first cast that I make, that's from my experience

It absorbs and holds water. It can be done but its a pain

With these temps we've been having lately, ice will build up on any line that you have.

Unfortunately braided line will freeze in cold temps. I would recommend if your looking for a low stretch line. Check out Fluorocarbon, offers great strength and somewhat invisible to the fish. Mono is okay too but a lit more stretchy. My favourite brands are Seaguar and Sunline.

The best fix I've found is a rod with large dia eyes/guides. A bit of ice on the line is far less critical then.
