Thanks...Dugger & Fishingnoob...I think that I missed the big specks though CJR this part of the river is probably too far up stream for coasters from Lake Nipigon it is better known for walleye...I think that if you hit the bottom end from Ombabika Bay (Onaman River Resort) you could target those tribs much easier by boat CJR...

ummm that's not a big speck??? lol

.... interesting to see conservation limits way up there... what's that aboot??? was there a problem?? obviously eh

Pat, awesome report pal  Keep the pictures rolling in, that is an amazing looking river

I met a few Bear hunters taking a break fishing on the river and took a pic of one with his catch as he took in the scenery and the last shot is of the flow under the bridge which should give you an idea of this rivers size.
The Little Jackfish River & Nipigon River are much larger today than in Dr Cooks time when he caught his world record Brook Trout as a result of the Ogoki Reservoir...Waboosee And Summit Control Dam constructed during WWII to produce hydro power for the war effort...Port Arthur Ship Yard & Canada Car.
I think you would like this river D-Man it is pretty cool... 8) :)

Dr. Cook and his 14 pounds of glory. That must of been some fish. Here is another brute, a contender. No weight on the fish so it isn't official... how could someone kill a fish like that?!?!

Brook trout pig

Thanks for that pic...I think that Manitoba brook trout was stocked but it's genes were from Nipigon...I also heard when I was out west that the big specks in Fortress Lake BC came from Nipigon as well....I guess having good genetics helps... ;-) :)
