hi, anyone has fished lizard creek north of Hwy 17 before?? Its a trib, about 1 hr from Sudbury, of a bigger river that goes into lake Huron

Give it a shot I meant to say. Likely had small runs of trout but I'd wait for some more rain and cooler temps to see anything. Might also be some resident fish.

I will . especially it's the fall and who knows maybe the kings will be swimming up the river into the trib. it is off serpent river actually.

Anyone has tried fishing there?

I dont believe it gets a run of fish, the north channel section doesnt tend to have optimal spawning/stocking (Other the the rapids). We always considered it pretty dead when it came to anadromous species.

I do know of the walleye/pike/muskie and oddly sturgeon that swim in the serpent, there are rumors of brookies as well but I have never seen them.

Worse comes to worse you give it a shot

My guess is that for that region you'd be better off on Manitoulin. I'm thinking a lot of those streams are likely composed of larger rock and as @IR4J said, probably not the ideal place for anadromous salmonids. The island has a lot more streams with sand and fine gravel I'd think. As far as pike/bass/walleye though - sounds like you may be in the right place. Good luck!
