Took a little ride to check my local river by the dam, couldn't believe how many logs were floating down stream. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1458146623.593666.jpg

Any poachers around there today?

I live not too far away from there and have seen quite a few people fishing out of season downstream from where you are standing over the past few years. If I mention it to them, most just play dumb or tell me I am wrong. They even have posted signs at both access points but I guess people are to ignorant to read them or they just don't care about the rules.

The garbage piles and fishing line left in that area under the bridge is ridiculous at times as well.

Pretty sad how some fisherman represent themselves. Then they complain when fishing gets banned.

I personally wouldn't even post pictures of that area, it gets more than enough attention and disrespect.

Yea , I was actually talking to an older fella that lives around the area and he said a few days a go he saw a father and his three little boys fishing just pass the bridge. He didn't bother saying anything but he made a point of the ignorance some adults have.

just like fish...when the temps rise, the fish turns it up and the salmun slayers as well...

Ever since getting highly addicted to fly fishing, I have noticed fishing brings out the absolute worst in people. It's like people lose all sense of decency for nature and other humans. Hahahaha of course, this isn't everyone but I do see it a lot.

Like you picture this guy on the river "greasing" bows for row, smoking darts and throwing them in the water, and leaving his Tim Hortons garbage everywhere. He sees a guy fishing 100 feet down river and makes sure to obviously run to his favourite hole. That other fisherman gently and carefully wades behind said angler and then gets an ear full about how he is a f**king idiot and is scaring the fish. Monday comes around and this dart smoking, polluting arse puts his suit on, goes to work and sells homes to people with a smile.

Its just such an odd transformation.

Does anyone else feel this way?

I always let people know if they're in that situation. There are a lot of people who aren't familiar with the regulations, and it's better for them to politely hear it from one of us than have an encounter with a CO. If they thank you and move off, good. If they don't, and especially if they give you lip, call the ministry.

And the best part is, these are the ones that are really ready to fight for such petty reasons...They won't even take their lines out if you hook up...

I ALWAYS try and be courteous to other anglers. But when they don't even pull their lines out of the water, they are straight up an A$$

i like to stay away from salmon once someone got very pissed at me when i caught a monster in his spot all i was using is a red dardevil spoon

I lost a lot of fish because of that...I'm not one to confront someone over it. I usually just move to another spot.

From chatting with some guys that fish Salmon in NY.. Daily occurrence of people fighting at some spots..

Salmon brings out the worst every where I guess. Big difference trimming some ones illegal dredging rig and physical assault.
Time to post combat fishing video again.

I agree fully. I used to live in Oakville and used to walk down to the fishing area nearby and there would be just terrible things going on. From 'anglers' snagging fish on purpose, hitting them with bats, pipes (for the roe) fishing can bring out the worst in some people.
I don't river fish too often as I can't stand the crowds.
