I just returned from the French River for my annual boys fishing trip......had a great time but the fishing was tough. As it goes the guy that does not fish caught the largest fish and the guy that does not play cards won all the money
All in all we had lots of pike......couple in the 24" - 26" range and one 26" Walleye and 5 nice bass - kept the walleye and 3 pike and threw the rest back.
The fishing was pretty hard - all on or all off. We had no luck in the deep water and most of the fish we marked were 50-55' deep. When it was on they were smashing mepps - # 2 and #2 (yellow/green and the red white), and Rapala jointed floater that runs about 1-2' deep (orange).
