Hello,

I'm new here on OFF. From Niagara Falls, so I mostly fish within the Niagara Region. Enjoy the website so far. Hope to contribute a bit here and there.

Had the day off today and wanted to try out the centre pin a bit more, just bought it a couple weeks ago. Even with the extremely high winds I ventured down to the lower, hoping I would be shielded a bit at least. I was wrong lol, pretty strong winds running through the glen/whirlpool. Did some exploring and searched for some new spots and eventually came up with this chromer. First one landed on the pin, what a thrill!

Pictures kind of crappy because of the spot I was in lol.. trying to hold the camera and the fish and get it back as soon as possible made it difficult for a good picture.

Water conditions were not good at all, surprised I got this one actually. Glad I decided to go out though.

Thanks,

Andrew.

Hey Andrew, great first post, there are many steelhead guys on board here. I am a Niagara junkie and fish it several times throughout the season, you are lucky to have her in your backyard

Awesome! Lucky you have that so close to you.

I really love it down there, never know what you're going to catch. Thanks for sharing this and hope to see more from you in the future.

Cheers.

Nice fish! I'm down there every week once the cold really kicks in. Hopefully we get better conditions this year (ie. More snow and less murky water)

nice job thanks for posting and sharing, that looks like a real fresh piece of steel :D . congrats on getting the fish on the pin, i myself have only had a few small fights on my pin setup with none landed, hoping to change that in november.the guys are right you are lucky to have niagara as home waters, enjoy the site and keep on posting.

Welcome Andrew,

Great piece of steel!.. Love the lower myself.. just don't get out that way often.

Thanks for all the replies!

I am very lucky to live where I live. The mighty Niagara can be tough thats for sure, but can also be very rewarding. I'm definitely addicted to the pin haha, even before landing that fish. Just love the style and the new challenge. I am mostly a bass guy, but when the weather changes, love to chase some steelhead. Looking forward to this season, hopefully will have more pictures soon enough.

Thanks again,

Andrew.

Im mostly a Steelhead guy but when the weather warms up I dont mind chasing around some Bass and other warm water species while waiting for the cold to come.
