Do you guys think that fishing while there is a full moon the fish bite more often (afew days before during and after)? In your opinion, if the weather is bad for fishing, does this negate the effects of the full moon?

I think the weather plays a greater role and that the full moon does increase the likelihood of catching something but it is certainly not the be all -end all fishing rule.

I'd think that the barometer plays the greatest role not that I use any of that data to plan my trips just from what I have read over the years!

Just before a storm I find to be the most productive.

After the story murky conditions, lots of food for all to eat in the water world makes it tougher in my opinion.

But the bottom line is when you enter the real world finding time to get out and about is hard enough let alone trying to line your free time up to some moon chart.

Find the time, go fishing rain or shine! Preferably rain hahaha.

I would agree about fishing being good just before it rains, and then not so good afterwards. Murky water also makes it tough.

Hey.. ever hear somones watch beep while your head was underwater and find out your watch is 100ft away? I can imagine all the raindrops hitting the surface would be loud as ol heck. Fish probably go deeper to get rid of the migrane they just got from the rain.

A fish's sense of hearing is not exactly like hours they use their lateral line to detect vibrations in the water not sure how rain would affect them.

This is the whole idea behind having rattles in lures to attract the fish through vibrations created by the rattles and the lure action.

even if you don't have any rain, and just have a barometer drop will drive the fish into hiding, and if you have a cold front blow through will cause them to hide, so they are affected by many factors. So now all you need to do is find a day when all these factors are positive and have a very sucessful day......yeh right!

my buddy tells me that a full moon is the best time to fish. he also says he caught his biggest fish on a full moon he said it was a 12lbs pike.
