Made my first lure

Yeserday I got it in my head that I was going to try to make an inline spinner, I have one that worked very well over the years and wanted a bigger one for some big pike. I went looking for matterial to make it and found it at Angler's Specialties. My first one took about 3hrs and the second one took 1hr witch I don't think is too bad since the skirt had to be custom made. The spinner is rear weighted and has twin collorado blades with a gold body and white skirt and is about 9 inches in length. The best part is the spinner is weedless and snagless so you can throw it into all kind's of cover. Can't wait to test it to make sure that the balance is correct . will post pic's as soon as I figure out how. :lol: 8)

There is nothing too special it just too me awhile to figure out the best way to loop the wire ,made one more this morning and it only took .5hr to make just getting the hang of it is the hard part. I am also using thick wire that is quite hard to bend. The skirt is silacone and after tying it on I have to seperate each strand one at a time.

Tested the spinner on the weekend and did not get the effect that I was looking for so going back to the drawing board. :lol: Having a problem with the blades not spining, but did not spend anytime tweeking it too excited to fish.

Are the clevice (the small item that connects the spinner blade to the wire) that you are using too big for the blades you have on there ? That's a very common problem with building inlines, making sure you have the right size clevices and making sure there's enough space between the blades & clevices, the body, and where you do the wire bending to finish off the inline. Either that or you bent the wire a little short, so the body of spinner is rubbing up against the clevice from underneth, let me know if that's the problem and I might be able to help you a bit more.

The clevice seem to be the proper size for the blades, on this design there is no body however I have taken these one's apart and I'm going to start fresh. I figured out the problem lies in the weight that I have added to the rear of the spinner. I'm not sure if you have ever heard about a inline called "snagless sally" but this is my favorite inline however they don't come in a muskie size and not available in can at all or I just had no luck finding them. If you ever come across this inline in a store buy it because it won't let you down and let me know because I will buy them all. The 'snagless sally" is a unique design because there is no body and it has only a single hook not a treble. the most difficult part to make would be the hook because it has a weight on the upper part of the hooks shaft witch is shaped in a certin way so the hook swims in an upright position. :mrgreen:
