Getting some new line on the pin today. I usually run 10lb main. I want something that is good in the winter months. I've heard good things about Hydra float. Is it worth it? Any suggestions on "best" float lines? I don't care too much about high vis, but would like a more buoyant line, easy to mend, mono based.

Thanks!

I like to use Real Magic by Blakemore. Works well with mono, braid and if you spray some on your guides they won't freeze up.

I'm looking to respool my pin soon and wondering if there's anything else out there?

I've only used 10lb Raven mainline and I find it's difficult to mend.
Trilene 10lb XL. It's very forgiving line. Not fancy, not pink or bright green, but works very well .

Fireline Crystal
fireline is a floatline? even if it is fireline has double the strength advertised at least that what i found for example i bought 20lb fireline and i pulled logs that my lure was stuck on and it didnt break so no need to 30lb

I use Berkley 10 lb as well. probably a bit stiffer than the lines that are made specifically for float fishing, but 11$ for 1500 yards works for me. its also strong and can take a beating. haven't lost a float yet.
